Juliet Hiznay is the founder of J.D. Hiznay, PLLC, a private law practice in Arlington, Virginia. She focuses her practice on serving families who are navigating the special education process in public school. Taking a collaborative and holistic approach to matters, Juliet consults with families on both school and community supports. A litigator by training, Ms. Hiznay previously appeared in federal and state courts across Virginia, in the District of Columbia and in New York City (pro hac vice) in a wide variety of matters, both trial and appellate. She is a graduate of Boston College (Bachelor of Arts, cum laude) and George Mason University School of Law (Juris Doctor, with honors) and has been licensed to practice law in Virginia since 1997.
Ms. Hiznay has been recognized by her peers in Arlington Magazine as a “Top Attorney” in the field of education law. As part of her law practice, Juliet provides direct services to individuals and families across Virginia seeking consultation or representation relating to learning differences. She also counsels individuals with disabilities who are transitioning to secondary and post-secondary education opportunities.
Ms. Hiznay is an accomplished public speaker and writer. She has testified before the Virginia General Assembly, and has worked extensively on public policy and legislation. She is co-founder of the Coalition for Trauma-Informed Schools.
